Cue the most unique, relaxed and enjoyable food and music festival going in a county that knows how to throw a party! Yup, now four years into providing dairy and apple goodness to thousands of food and drink lovers, the annual Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest' is the perfect Glastonbury pre-amble, taking place just the week before the famous festival. So, if you missed out on a Glastonbury ticket, this festival is a perfect replacement. The cheese is udderly divine, the cider makers are propar west country folk and the mooozic will get you, your friends and family bopping all over the fields. The Saturday Fest Pass gives you entry to the main fest’ on 20th June, where a traditional Somerset Wassail kicks off the live music from 1.30pm ‘till late, featuring Joey the Lips, The Brit Pop Collective, Sound of the Sirens, Rodney Branigan & John Pointer, Rose Redd, The Painkillers and Strip Polka. For those craving a Somerset weekend experience like no other though, one of the fest's 3-day Big Weekender experiences is for you. Not only is the amazing Cheese and Cider Steam Express back this year – a cider and cheese ploughman's to die for during a 40 mile round trip aboard the West Somerset Railway – but you can also enjoy the NEW Big Weekender Somerset Cheese School and Big Weekender Somerset Cider School experiences from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 June. Just the tickets you need if you fancy immersing yourself in a hazy mix of Somerset goodness with top experts on hand imparting all their deliciously cheesy, cidery knowledge. You can also pitch up your tents or campervans on-site over the weekend for that true fest’ feeling. Friday night’s tunes from Strip Polka (7pm onwards) will get you mooooving, hwile the Mooovers and Shakers Silent Disco is one for all ages, with big kids enjoying cocktails crafted by Sheppy’s Cider Mixologists. Stay over on Saturday night and you’ll awake to the Sunday Slowdown Farmers’ Market where you can pick up Somerset’s best food, drink and crafts from the people that actually make them. Loads of games and fun including the Zomerzet Wipeout machine and Apple Bungee Run tempt hundreds of families along each year with food and drink for all tastes, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
