Shrewsbury Winter Festival
Saturday December 09 2017to Sunday December 10 2017
You've missed this event
Shrewsbury has a very hands-on approach when it comes to festive activities for Christmas. Whilst towns across the country lay out a couple of festive stalls and call it a day, Shrewsbury takes the tinsel to the next level.
This extra special winter festival showcases the thriving craft culture in Shrewsbury, with various independent stalls selling handmade goods and gifts. As ever, it promises to be a stunning range of decorative and useful items that make perfect stocking fillers. Creative workshops will run alongside the stalls, allowing inspired visitors to try their own hand at making something.
Taking centre stage, a vast array of warming drinks and hearty food will be available from traders. Adults can find festive cheers in a steaming cup of spiced mulled wine, whilst children will relish a warm mug of creamy hot chocolate. All kinds of artisan food, from fresh mince pies and hot roast meats, to aromatic cheeses and fruit-filled Christmas puds, will be on offer to take away or enjoy straight away.
The event will be held in Shrewsbury Quarry Park, making great use of the wide and varied space. Live music from unsigned bands and local choirs will provide the background noise, while the storytelling tents and cookery classes will ensure there’s something for everyone.
