You've missed this event

If you love garlic then you’ll love the Isle of White Garlic Festival; it’s where you’ll find hundreds of stalls dedicated to this popular and versatile ingredient, with lots to sample and, indeed, take home. A giant garlic marquee will be filled with wonderful bite-sized delights including garlic fudge and marinated olives, and, as you might expect, a wide selection of garlic bulbs of all shapes and sizes to purchase. Those with a passion for cooking are in for a treat, as there will be cookery demonstrations from some of the best local chefs, including Charlie Bartlett from The Garlic Farm Café – the UK’s largest speciality garlic grower – and Darren Beavers from The Hambrough. There will also be various talks and presentations to enjoy, all focussed on the many culinary and medicinal uses of garlic. On a mission to entertain the whole family, the organisers have made sure there will be loads of children’s activities to keep the little ones busy. High-wire trio, Above and Beyond will be giving aerial and flying trapeze performances, and there will be falconry displays from Haven Falconry, dog agility shows from White Wizards Dog Display, as well as a bouncy castle, face painting, and circus skills demonstrations. As well as all this, the island’s biggest funfair will be pitching up, providing some fantastic rides for all to enjoy. A fabulous selection of locally brewed ales and ciders will be availabe from the big beer tent, and, if you’re hungry, you’ll find some delicious pastries and snacks, including cream teas in the tea tent. There will also be music from the likes of no.1 best seller Kiki Dee, alongside live performances from some of the best local bands. Make sure you check out the website for full listings.
