You've missed this event

Meat-lovers in Bristol and Manchester have long since waxed lyrical about Grillstock, the food festival whose name has become synonymous with great food and a party atmosphere. It’s the largest barbecue and music festival in Europe, and each of the events, whether in Manchester, Bristol or London, promises a magnificent mix of meat, music and mayhem. London is new to the Grillstock treatment but is more than making up for lost time with a cracking line-up and plans for around 40000 meat-heads to descend on the Big Smoke (Chesnuts Field, Walthamstow, to be precise). Grillstock London will be headlined by Razorlight, and will be supported by Grillstock veterans Hayseed Dixie. And that’s just the Sunday. Saturday’s line-up will feature awesome DJs like DJ Grandmaster Flash, who’ll be playing an eclectic set and DJ Yoda in the Bar Stage. Latino legends the Cuban Bros will be providing sexy sounds and impressive chest hair – there’s going to be something for everyone at Grillstock London, and there are still loads of special guests to be announced. As well as a sizzling musical line-up, Bristol, Manchester and London can all look forward to a US-style low and slow barbecue competition in which teams can compete to be crowned King of the Grill. Festival goers will be able to interact with the teams and sample the food, hopefully to pick up some tips. The competition will be judged by Dr BBQ, otherwise known as Ray Lampe, so the pressure will really be on for those competing. For something a bit more light-hearted, there will be chilli and hot dog eating competitions to watch or partake in too. Look forward to visiting the Weber BBQ Academy and to munching your way around the village of barbecue traders serving up pit-smoked meaty treats. If you need something to wet your whistle, choose from imported craft beers in the New York Dive Bar or head to the bourbon dens, but make sure to try Grillstock’s very own Pale Ale too – it was created especially as the perfect accompaniment to barbecue.
