You've missed this event

In recent years, Bristol’s foodie calendar has been a particularly full one. So in order to impress the super-spoilt gastronomes of the West Country, a food festival has to be something pretty darn special. Luckily, Foodies Festival organisers are old hands when it comes to thinking up new and exciting ways to celebrate food, glorious food. This year they've also moved up to the Downs on the top of Whiteladies road - with a spectacular view of the city and the suspension bridge and plenty of room to cater for the local foodies who are sure to be there en masse. There will be a fabulous Feasting Tent decked out with banqueting tables. Pull up a bench and you might find yourself sitting next to one of the top chef guests as you explore the fruits of the West Country’s indisputable culinary talent. Bring some old friends, or make some new ones, swap stories and cookery tips and have a right good chin wag. The all-new Vintage Tea Tent is a trove of treats for nostalgia seekers. The Vintage Kitchen Market will be touting some serious must-have kitchenware to browsers, while the vintage tea dance will delight the energetic. After all of that dancing, shopping and eating, I will be in desperate need of a long cold drink and a sit down. Luckily for me, there’s plenty of choice here as well, from the hay bales at the Real Ale and Cider Farm, to the tables dotted around the Drinks Theatre, where mixologists will be ready and waiting to shake your favourite cocktail. Throughout the day they’ll be loads of live music and entertainment and, new for this year, the BBQ Arena will be cooking on coal all day long – I can smell the burgers already.
