You've missed this event

Flavours Food Festival returns this year with a very special guest for 2017: Nadiya Hussain!

The snowballing success of the festival has meant that this year the festival will run over not one, but two days. That's an extra day of foodie fun for you all to enjoy. The event will see the unique historical site transformed into a bustling food and drinks market for another year, offering a wide variety of tasty treats and delicious drinks

The highlight of the weekend will no doubt be celebrity chef Nadiya. In the grand arena, which seats over 400 people, you will have the opportunity to see Nadiya do her thing. The Great British Bake Off champion and published author has so much more up her sleeve by the sounds of things; her own cookery show (Nadiya's British Food Adventure) and another co-presented show later this year (The Big Family Cooking Showdown). See her demonstrate a whole host of recipes for you to recreate at home, who knows - maybe you'll be the next Bake Off winner!

Inside The Ironworks, up to 60 local and national food producers will set out their wares. Here you can browse, sample and even start your Christmas shopping. As well as this there will be children's crafts, a chill out zone and bar serving hot and cold drinks and light snacks. Outside in the Old Works Yard there will be a selection of tempting street food, where you can pick up a light bite. Here you can explore the Earl Fitzwilliam's Workshops, a series of independent shops, antiques centre, play area and quaint cafes. Why not take a look and discover exclusive and unexpected treasures?

Need a break from all the food? Head over to the Newcomen Beam Engine – a magnificent piece of engineering – described as the most important piece of industrial heritage in the world and one of the finest surviving legacies of the Industrial Revolution. While visiting be sure to pay a visit to Elsecar Railway a preserved steam railway line with working trains.

Demonstrations take place on the Sunday and must be pre-booked. Don't miss out, book your tickets here.
