The Cotswold Show and Food Festival
Saturday July 07 2018to Sunday July 08 2018
As line-ups go, The Cotswold Show & Food Festival is pretty unique – you’d be hard-pushed to find a more varied selection of goings-on. For me, though, the main event has to be the food, and they’ve really pulled out all the stops there, too, with a fantastic food festival spread across two marquees, all full to bursting with 50 stalls showcasing the finest Cotswold produce. The cookery theatre will have some live cooking performances too by top local chefs including Nik Chappell head chef of 3AA rosette restaurant, The Slaughters Manor House, Ales Maurer from The Lygon Arms and Kuba Winkowski from The Feathered Nest. You’re sure to be in for some top-notch tucker here.
If you’re hoping to get stuck into some activities before grabbing a bite, you certainly won’t be short of things to see and do. The spectacular Savage Skills BMX Display offers thrilling stunts and action while the Mounted Games Association of Great Britain will bring fast-paced ponies and riders in fast and furious races! If you’re a fan of man’s best friend, you’re in luck with the ‘World of Dogs’ – a whole area of the Showground dedicated to canines. There will be Terrier Racing and a Show, Lurcher Racing and a Show Family Dog Show, Gun Dog Scurries, Dog Agility and much more. As you can tell, this festival is pretty diverse.
Alternatively, you might like to take a look at the traditional rural skills on show, watch falconry, learn Polo skills, or simply relax in the sunshine and take in some of the live music. Just remember to bring along an empty picnic hamper ready to fill up with lovely local goodies, as you’ll be spoilt for choice by the food offering.
