Chipping Sodbury Food and Drink Festival
Friday September 09 2016to Saturday September 10 2016
You've missed this event
A collection of fun foodie events and little bit of history awaits you in Chipping Sodbury this September. This year's food and drink festival is a line-up including a delicious food trail around the local eateries on Friday evening, a fabulous Saturday market with local bakeries, butchers and independent traders and a guided walk on the "Food shops of the past" with historian Jim Elsworth. Those with a competitive side can test their general knowledge on Friday with an epicurean pub quiz in the Beaufort Hunt. There's a great prize up for grabs - wine tasting for 4 courtesy of Waitrose! Meanwhile, the main event on Saturday will be the annual Food Truck Rally which celebrates the amazing and creative vehicles that sell our UK street food day in and day out. Whether these mobile food trucks provide a glass of wine or beer with a superb view of the beautiful market town from the top of a double decker red bus, an Italian sausage from a cute van or an espresso from the Tuk-tuk Cafe, they've got it all! One of the most novel and exciting events will be the demonstrations by Army chefs from 162 Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps Reserve, Swindon. For their first appearance at Chipping Sodbury Food and Drink Festival, they will be demonstrating how basic Army ration packs used on operations can be transformed into a feast. It will be truly inspiring in so many ways and certainly one of the attractions not to be missed. For a comprehensive list visit the website here. Without further ado get planning for this wonderful event and put September 9th - 10th in your calendar!
