Top Food & Drink Events in November

November is the month of fireworks and fancy dress. It’s a time full of magic and mischief; warm food and the first scents of mulled wine. As we await the festive season, and keep our ears alert for Christmas carols floating through the frosty air, now is the season to stock up the larder. Gathered in our winter basket are the top November foodie festivals. Prepare to fill your bellies this month.

London

Taste of London Winter: 16th – 19th November. Fire pits, forgotten foods, cocktails, Champagne, mulled wine and Michelin-starred chefs, Taste of London Winter is the star of Shoreditch this November. Here’s the highlights from last year to get your mouth watering in anticipation.

Brewery Tours / Brew a Beer Day at Wild Card Brewery: Various Dates. For all the beer enthusiasts out there, this one's for you. Ever wondered what the brewing process looks like? Have a look for yourself on one of Wild Card's Brewery Tours. Think you've got what it takes to brew your own? Go one step further with a Brew a Beer Day. It's a perfect present for beer nerds!

The Wine Gang London Winter Festival: 4th November. Whether you're still getting into wine or you're an aficionado, you won't find an event in the UK with more knowledgeable, approachable hosts, masterclasses, and wine to sample.

North East

North East Farplace Vegan Festival: 12th November. Endearingly-named NEVFEST is back, bringing with it a whole host of the newest and most delicious vegan creations, produce and gifts. Get inspired with talks and activities to go cruelty-free. There'll be kids' activites and so much more!

North West

Allergy and Free From Show: 4th – 5th November. This festival is all about sharing oodles of knowledge and forkfuls of food. Leading nutritional and allergen experts will be on hand as well as professional chefs who will teach you how to make some Christmas canapés. Most of all it’s about eating as much as you can in 24 hours without any worry!

Cake & Bake Show: 9th – 12th November. Budding bakers, Great British Bake Off addicts and those with a sweet tooth will not want to miss, probably the best and most authoritative UK festival on all things beautifully baked. With many famous faces you can do some celeb spotting here too!

Foodies Festival Christmas - Tatton Park: 17th - 19th November. One of our very favourite festivals, Foodies Festival, is coming to Tatton Park for the first time to get Cheshirers' Christmas cheer in gear. Take home recipes and top tips from MasterChef winners, Great British Menu stars and top local chefs who will be cooking up their festive favourites!

West Midlands

BBC Good Food Show Birmingham Winter: 30th November - 3rd December. Take heed: this is the last of the BBC Good Food Shows this year. If you’ve missed the others, get thee to this one immediately. Birmingham’s NEC will be packed to the gunwales with celebrity chefs and food galore. Who will be there? Well, pretty much everyone, so if you’re a celeb spotter, this one’s for you. Gracing the halls will be Mary Berry, James Martin, the Hairy Bikers, John Torode, Raymond Blanc, Nadiya Hussain... I could go on.

East Midlands

Northampton Winter Food Festival 11th - 12th November. Get acquainted with over 80 food and drink producers, browse gift stalls, watch chef demonstrations and enjoy free wine tastings, foodie workshops and talks. You can also try food, mulled wine and hot spiced cider from an open-air street food market making this a fantastic day out.

ChocFest 18th - 19th November. There will be tastings, demonstrations, talks and workshops taking place, all with a chocolatey theme of course. You can even book a workshop in advance to make your own chocolates. How does making your own lollies, attending chocolate tastings or creating your very own chocolate wreath for Christmas sound?

South East

Wine Festival Winchester: 24th - 25th November. If you need to stock up on anything for the festive season, it’s wine. Book yourself a slot at Winchester’s wine festival and taste your way round a myriad of fine wines, meet Saturday Kitchen’s wine experts Peter Richards and Susie Barrie and pick up the perfect bottle of plonk. Chin, chin.

Knebworth Christmas Fair: 10th – 12th November. If you fancy meeting a reindeer at the most wonderful time of the year make Knebworth House your destination. Handcrafted gifts including unique jewellery, aromatherapy products and other goodies will be awaiting you.

Brighton - Farplace Vegan Festival: 26th November. We all know Brighton is a haven for the vegan community. With vegan and vegetarian restaurants around every corner, including the famously brilliant Terre a Terre, it's no suprise the festival is a huge hit year after year. Treat yourself to some delicious treats totally guilt-free!

South West

Clovelly Herring Festival: 18th November: A charming village, the cobbled streets, nooks and crannies of Clovelly are always worth a visit. It is the place to be this month for delicious seafood, fishermen’s tales and to spy some lovely boats.

Exeter Christmas Market: 16th November – 17th December. On the other side of the county Devon welcomes in the jolly seasonal spirit with market stalls selling all sizes, shapes and selections of gifts and foods. Warming things up there will be a local glass blower giving demonstrations too.

Cornish Winter Fair: 18th November. The Cornish Winer Fair is something of an institution in Wadebridge. It's an event that celebrates all that's great about Cornish farming. You can get hands on, meet animals, kick start your Christmas shopping, and enjoy all the freshest local food and drink

Forest Showcase Christmas Food & Drink Festival: 26th November. Set in the beautiful grounds of a 17th century hunting lodge, Forest Showcase Food & Drink Festival will be a celebration of Gloucestershire’s finest local produce and festive spirits. Tuck into a mince pie (or two) as you explore!

Scotland

Foodies Festival Xmas Edinburgh: 24th - 26th November. Another Foodies festival on the list - we're guilty! We think Foodies is a hard festival to beat. But don't take our word for it, get down to Edinburgh's International Conference Centre to watch some celebrity chefs do their thing, get your hands on some delicious food and drink, and catch some fantastic musicians.

Edinburgh Craft Beer Revolution Festival: 25th - 27th November. Ever been to a craft beer festival? Then you'll know what all the hype is about! If you haven't - here's your perfect chance. Expect over 60 brews from 13 Scottish breweries, mouth-watering street food and great music. Viva la craft beer revolution!

Crathes Castle Art Food and Craft Fair: 10th - 12th November. Ever wanted to find sculptures, preserves, knitwear and pottery all under one roof? Look no further (and it's a historical roof too)!  Ove 60 exhibitors will be spreading their goods around the castle grounds for you to spoil yourself with.

Wales

Christmas Cheese Board Masterclass: 10th November. North Wales' Slate Caverns have teamed up with the cheese experts at South Caernarfon Creameries to host a mega cheese board masterclass, so you can put together the perfect Christmas or a dinner party cheeseboard! Tell all your friends you're a cheese pro.
