Like all good things do,the Abergavenny Food Festival is set to return this year with a stellar line up of guests ready to take to the stage. Bringing together some of the best names in the culinary world who are on hand to present talks and give demonstrations, the Abergavenny Food Festival also has a huge range of stalls selling everything from craft beer to seafood, meat to pastries.

Winner of the best event in Wales 2016 as voted by the public, the festival, which takes place on the 16th, 17th and 18th of September will be a weekend of delights for any food loving festival goer.

Top of the bill and serving up some celebrity flavour is MasterChef: The Professionals presenter, Monica Galetti. Opening the festival in the Borough Theatre on Friday 16, the former Le Gavroche senior sous-chef will talk exclusively about her new book ‘The Skills.’ Not released until October 2016, this will be an exclusive chance for fans to get a first look.

Joining the headliners is one of the Basque Country’s greatest chef exports, the critically acclaimed and award winning, José Pizarro. José will be sharing his culinary secrets for perfecting Spanish cuisine with recipes from his most recent book, ‘Basque’.

José said: “Abergavenny is a fantastic food festival, so much so that I go every year. It’s packed with fabulous products and is filled with some of my favourite foodie friends. I love Wales too; it is very much in my heart. Abergavenny is an incredible festival to be a part of.” Adding to the international mix this year, is festival favourite and award winning Cafe Spice Namaste restaurant owner and chef, Cyrus Todiwala who returns to the festival for the fourteenth year to talk about his new book ‘Mr. Todiwala’s Spice Box.’

Cyrus said: “Abergavenny Food Festival has drawn us in year after year. Pervin and I love it, our team and friends love it, and we love everything about it. What we love most is the people; our loyal and new customers. It’s a high point of our annual calendar and we can’t wait to see what surprises this year has in store.”

Also returning for her tenth year is chef and food writer, Jane Baxter promoting the new ‘Leon: Happy Salads’ book. Jane, said: “It’s the best food festival in the world for lots of reasons – the location, the different venues and range of events… For me, it’s a chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones. I am so pleased to be back to promote the Leon: Happy Salads book.”

Alongside the impressive headliners, the festival promises to bring lots of exciting new developments to accompany old favourites like the Night Market which transforms the Lower Brewery Yard into a magical place to eat, drink and hangout as a brilliant collection of speciality street food vendors stay open until 10pm on the Saturday night.

Bringing a truly international flavour, the Abergavenny Food Festival will once again bring the best in food and drink home over the weekend and we are very excited. As regular attendees for some years now we know that this regular event is like a fine wine that only improves with age.

Offering a brimming schedule of celebrity chef demos, top-notch exhibitors and a melting-pot of diverse food cultures, this year’s line-up looks set to bring you everything you could ever want served up on a ridiculously taste laden plate. Over the next six weeks the festival will be announcing the full line up and exclusive news looking ahead to the 2016 festival.

Wristbands will get you entry into over 200 food and drink exhibitors across five venue, live cookery demonstrations, children’s activities, entertainment, live music and much more still to be announced and we’re not exaggerating when we say you’d be a fool to miss out.

The full line-up will be announced in July but tickets to the headline events and weekend wristbands are available now. I would book straight away if I were you as this is one food festival you definitely do not want to miss out on.
