We’ve chosen a handful of foodie events we’re looking forward to, and we hope you’ll love them just as much as we do:
Leeds Indie Food Festival May 12th-30th, Leeds
Pencil this into your dairy it really is something to look forward to. Whether you’re heading to a Polish supper club, planning your route for the Leeds Craft Beer Crawl or hoping to check out the Great Edible Art Show, there really is something for everyone throughout the month of May.
Sheffield Food Festival May 28th-30th, Sheffield
Now in its fifth year, this free festival will take place across the heart of Steel City. It goes without saying, Sheffield will be budding with a jam-packed artisan food market, tempting street food traders and plenty of chef demos. Don’t miss the children’s fun-filled cookery classes and BBC Radio Sheffield’s Ready, Steady, Cook! Then, dance the night away at the Peace Gardens’ mini beer festival. Is there anything this festival hasn’t covered? We think not.
Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival June 18th, Leeds
Bursting onto the scene in 2014, this fantastic festival is returning again to entice its visitors with all things vegan. The first 100 visitors will get a goody bag - so make sure you're quick! This vegan paradise will be a maze of 150 stalls and live cooking demos for aspiring chefs. The vegan lifestyle isn’t all about food though, so catch animal welfare presentations, try vegan make-up and browse vegan clothing at the event.
Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival July 30th-31st, Skipton
An event which is always enjoyed by all the family is the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival. It will see the Auction Mart transformed into a ‘foodies haven’ with over a whopping 270 traders showcasing delicious produce from the region. Plus there's celebrity chefs galore with the likes of James Martin and The Hairy Bikers making an appearance alongside culinary experts from the region. When you feel peckish, head over to the street food arena which will be filled with tantalising dishes – what’s not to like?
Foodies Festival August 19th- 21st, Harrogate
The hugely popular Foodies festival will be returning to Ripley Castle in Harrogate for a celebration of all things food and drink. You can look forward to dining at banqueting tables and getting your fill of food in the feasting tent and even daily dances in the vintage tea tent. If you dare - sign yourself up for the chilli eating contest at 5pm! After ten years of running Foodies festivals, the crowds flock to enjoy all this event has to offer.
Cannon Hall Farm Food Festival August 25th-29th, Barnsley
Whether you want to taste some amazing food and drink, learn how to make delicious food yourself, or while the afternoon away in the craft tent, there is an abundance of things to do at this family-friendly event. Young visitors can have fun in the Kids Zone, make iced biscuits and jump around on the bouncy castle. Fingers crossed the August sun will be shining so you better make a beeline for Cannon Hall Food Festival.
