Penrith on a Plate
Saturday July 15 2017
For the foodies of Cumbria, there will be no better place to be on July 15th than Penrith. Why? Superb food festival Penrith on a Plate will be coming to town for an unmissable day of top quality local produce, hog roasts, food tastings, demonstrations and more. And the celebration doesn’t end there – all week, as part of the Eden Food and Farming Festival, there will be summer fêtes, edible garden tours and some fine dining experiences to enjoy too.
Budding chefs and those who like to get creative in the kitchen will be delighted to hear that John Crouch will be on stage for some live cooking shows, and, after years of experience in top restaurants and on cooking television programmes, you can bet that he’ll dish up the very best tips. There’s no better entertainment whilst tucking into Cumbria’s finest cheeses or some fruity Cumbrian fro-yo.
To top off the day, enjoy the informative music of many local acts and the Barrow Band, who'll teach youngsters about some important food lessons. Add into the mix some activities from face painting to animal petting and even a rodeo bull, and you’ve definitely got yourself entertainment for everyone.
